Tomato Rice | Tomato Rice Recipe |

Total Time: 20 Minutes

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:

1. Oil- 2 tsp
2. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
3. Green chillies- 2 to 3 no.
4. Chopped onions- 1 cup
5. Chopped tomatoes- 1 cup
6. Salt- 1 tsp
7. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
8. Sambar powder - 2 tsp
9. Cooked rice- 1 cup

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan over medium flame. Then add mustard seeds, when it starts spluttering add slitted green chillies and saute it for few seconds.
2. Add chopped onions and saute till it becomes translucent.
3. Add chopped tomatoes and saute it for 2 minutes. Cook till it becomes soft mushy.
4. Add turmeric powder, salt and sambar powder ( you can use red chilli powder also ). Give it a good mix.
5. Add little water and cook for 2 minutes.
6. Add cooked rice, give it a good mix. Make sure that the rice is coated well with the tomato gravy.
7. Now tomato rice is ready to serve.
