INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:

  • 1 cup of Fresh/ Desiccated coconut
  • 2 Tablespoons of Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon Chana dal
  • 1 Tablespoon Urad dal
  • 1 String Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies, finely chopped
  • 2 Cups of Cooked Rice
  • 1 Teaspoon salt

QUICK LOOK OF RECIPE:

  • Heat oil in a pan, add Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, green chillies, curry leaves, Saute it for a minute.
  • Add fresh or desiccated coconut and saute for 2 minutes over low flame.
  • Add cooked rice, salt and give it a good mix.
  • Cover the lid and steam it for 5 minutes over low flame.
  • And enjoy the coconut rice when it is hot.

HOW TO MAKE:

(STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE WITH PHOTOS)

1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let it splutter for 30 seconds. Also add urad dal, chana dal, curry 1leaves, green chillies and saute it for a minute over low medium flame.


2. Add fresh/ Desiccated coconut powder.


3. Saute it for 2 to 3 minutes over low flame. 


4. Add cooked rice and Salt.


5. Give it a good mix.


6. Cover the lid and steam it for 5 minutes over low flame.


Coconut Rice is ready to serve.
