ALOO VADA WRAP- POTATO WRAP



    Aloo vada wrap is a snack recipe prepared by using mashed potatoes with chopped veggies and some seasonings and often wrapped with the dough and further deep fry in hot oil. perfect snack recipe with your cup of tea.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:

1. FOR STUFFING:

  • 2 medium-size Potatoes, smashed
  • 1 Carrot, grated
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cabbage, grated
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 Tablespoon rice flour
  • 1 Tablespoon rava

2. DOUGH: 

  • 1 Cup maida
  • Water, to prepare the dough

3. OTHER: 

  • Oil, for deep fry

QUICK LOOK OF RECIPE:

  • Prepare stuffing by mixing all the veggies & seasonings together.
  • Prepare soft by using maida flour and required amount of water.
  • Roll over the small-sized dough into a circular shape and cut into a plus in shape.
  • place small ball sized stuffing in the centre of the plus wrap.
  • Seal it by joining all the four edges. & keep it in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  • Deep fry it in hot oil.

HOW TO MAKE:

(STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE WITH PHOTOS)

1. Take a mixing bowl, add smashes potatoes, chopped onions, green chillies, grated carrot, cabbage, salt, red chilli powder, chilli flakes. Mix all together.
Now the stuffing is ready.


2. Take a cup of maida flour in a mixing bowl.


3. Start adding water by little and prepare a soft dough. If you feel sticky add little oil. Take ball sized dough.


4. Place it on a flat surface, start rolling and cut into a circular shape by using any sharp circular lid.


5. Cut into plus shape and remove extra remaining on the sides.


7. It should look like this.


8. Take small ball sized stuffing, place it in the centre of the wrap.


9. Start folding the edges inside and seal it carefully. Gently press in a vada or cutlet shape.


10. Pour enough oil in a pan, deep fry all the aloo vada wrap in batches.


11. Fry it in medium flame, make sure it is well cooked by inside also.


12. Transfer into a serving plate.

SERVING IDEAS:

    Serve hot with tomato sauce.

BONUS TIPS:

  • Make sure you finely chopped or grate all the veggies especially onions and cabbage, otherwise it gets separate from the stuffing while frying in oil.
  • By keeping vadas in the refrigerator before deep fry, it will bind together properly.
  • Use little water to stick the edges if you need.
