INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:
- 4 tbsp of Oil
- 1 Star anise
- 2 Bay leaf
- 3 to 4 Cloves
- 1/2 tbsp Pepper
- 1 or 2 Kapok buds
- 1/2 inch Cinnamon
- 1 or 2 Cardamom
- 1 Onion, lengthwise chopped
- 1/2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1/2 Small bunch Mint leaves, chopped
- 1 Cup of Rice
- 2 Cups of Water
- Salt- as per taste
QUICK LOOK OF RECIPE:
- Heat oil in a pan, add all the spices, onion,ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and saute it for 2 minutes.
- Also, add mint leaves and saute for a minute.
- Add rice and saute for a minute.
- Pour enough water to cook rice and add salt as per taste.
- Cover the lid and cook for 15 minutes.
- Enjoy the recipe with Dal or any Raitha.
HOW TO MAKE:
(STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE WITH PHOTOS)
1. Heat oil in a pan, add all the spices ie, star anise, bay leaf, cloves, pepper, kapok buds, cinnamon and cardamom.
2. Add onions,ginger garlic paste, green chillies and saute it for 2 minutes.
3. Add mint leaves and saute until raw smell vanishes.
4. Add rice and saute for 2 minutes.
5. Pour enough water and salt as per your taste. Mix and let it boil for a few minutes.
6. Cover the lid and cook for 10 minutes over medium-high flame.
7. After 10 minutes, give them a mix and cover and cook again for 5 minutes over a low flame until the rice cooked.
Serving Ideas: Enjoy the recipe with Dal or with any curry.
